IGNITE Corporate Strategy

Botswana Qualifications Authority continues to lead the transformation of Botswana's education and training system.The strategy provides a clear and forward-looking direction for strengthening the National Qualifications System, improving organisational performance and supporting Botswana's human capital and national development priorities. IGNITE brings together six strategic concepts that define how BQA will respond to technological change, evolving skills requirements and stakeholder expectations while delivering a responsive, credible and sustainable qualifications system.

Six Strategic Priority Areas

01 Digital Transformation

BQA will use modern technologies, process automation, research and data-driven decision-making to improve its services, processes and organisational performance.

02 Strategic Alignment

The Authority will strengthen alignment between qualifications, skills development, labour market requirements and national development priorities through strategic leadership and regulatory guidance.

03 Human Capital Management & Skills Development

BQA will develop institutional capability, strengthen organisational culture and support lifelong learning and skills development that prepare citizens and institutions for the future.

04 Stakeholder Engagement, Partnerships & Brand Equity

The Authority will build stakeholder confidence through meaningful partnerships, effective engagement, excellent service delivery, transparency and accountability.

05 Governance, Oversight, Enforcement & Organisational Effectiveness

BQA will strengthen governance, compliance, regulatory oversight, enforcement and quality assurance systems to improve organisational effectiveness and sustain confidence in the qualifications system.

06 Financial Sustainability & Operational Excellence

The Authority will pursue financial sustainability, international recognition, operational excellence and measurable impact through the delivery of high-quality services and strategic outcomes.

At the heart of IGNITE is a commitment to strengthening the relationship between education, qualifications, skills and the changing needs of Botswana's economy. Successful implementation will require shared responsibility, accountability and collaboration among BQA employees, learners, Education and Training Providers, employers, professional bodies, government institutions and other strategic partners.
